FreeYourWeb

Bring your site home to WordPress.

FreeYourWeb moves websites from Framer, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Lovable and similar builders to WordPress on hosting you own. Your pages, your images and your URLs come with you. Nothing changes for your visitors until you say so.

01

Detect and extract.

FreeYourWeb identifies the platform your site runs on and reads it the way a visitor’s browser does: every page, every image, every link. On many builders there is no export button for the whole site, so reading the published site is the only complete way out.

02

Provision and import.

It prepares a WordPress site on your hosting and imports the content into ordinary pages and posts. The original addresses are kept wherever WordPress allows it, and every address that has to change gets a permanent redirect.

03

Review, then go live.

You review the new site on a private address while the old one keeps running. Only when you confirm does FreeYourWeb point your domain to the new site. Until then, nothing your visitors see has changed.

Why sites get stuck

Hosted builders are quick to start with, and that is their appeal. The cost shows up later. Some offer no way to export the whole site. Wix, for example, states in its help center that a Wix site has to be hosted on Wix’s servers, and that blog posts cannot currently be exported to other platforms. Framer does not offer an HTML export for self-hosting. Where an export exists, it is often partial: Squarespace’s WordPress export carries layout pages and one blog, but not store pages, events, headers, footers or custom CSS.

None of this is hidden; it is in the platforms’ own documentation. But it means the longer a site stays, the harder it is to leave, and the more each price change matters. FreeYourWeb exists to make leaving an ordinary job instead of a project.

What moves

  • Pages and blog posts, with their text, headings and images.
  • Image files, downloaded and added to your media library rather than linked to the old platform.
  • Your URL structure, kept where possible and redirected where not.
  • Page titles and descriptions, so search results keep describing your pages the same way.
  • Your navigation, rebuilt as a WordPress menu.

What does not move

  • Online stores and their orders. Ecommerce migrations need a different kind of care, and FreeYourWeb does not attempt them.
  • Members’ areas, bookings and other features that depend on the old platform’s own systems.
  • Pixel-perfect copies of the old design. Your content arrives in one of our themes, styled with your colors, and you can adjust it from there.

You stay in control of access

FreeYourWeb asks for access only when it needs it, and every step that needs a password also has a manual route: you can do that step yourself and tell FreeYourWeb when it is done. You can run the whole migration hands-off, or go through it step by step and approve each one.

Frequently asked questions

Which platforms does FreeYourWeb support?

Framer, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Lovable and other builders that publish ordinary web pages, as well as static HTML sites and sites already on WordPress. Shopify and other store platforms are not supported.

Will I lose my search rankings?

The aim is to keep every page at the same address, and to redirect permanently any address that has to change, which is what Google recommends for a site move. Rankings can still move for a few weeks while search engines process the change. Google notes that for medium-sized sites it can take a few weeks or more.

Does FreeYourWeb use AI to rewrite my content?

No. A migration should move your site, not change it. FreeYourWeb copies your content as it is.

Do I pay a subscription?

No. A migration is a one-time job, priced by the size of the site.
